Got to spend a few quick days again in southern California recently.
Always great.
Requisite Disney time and a little bit of drive around time.
Disneyland is not the same as Disneyworld, if ever you get the chance to experience both, you should. The parks are different in their own ways and there is something wonderful about being in the park that Walt built.
The new feature at DCA is Carsland, and it is worth the price of admission! Really a great job in all aspects of bringing the feel of the movie to life! Just OUTSTANDING, and the nighttime light effects are over the top great. Car culture, low and slow, rockabilly, nostalgic route 66 of the west, it is all there in one spot, wonderfully done.
Getting away from the parks is also great, we didn't have near enough time this trip to do a proper road trip, but still managed to find some bright spots.
Griffith Observatory is a must-see, the state park beach at the end of LAX runways, end of Route 66 in Santa Monica, and even the Shake Shack at Crystal Cove...all were outstanding!
Go if you get the chance!
